Worship!

Everything that we do should be done as worship to God! John 4:23 records Jesus telling us, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." God desires all of us, and we were made for Him! He created us in His image (Genesis 1:27), and desires unity with us. Jesus prays, "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me" (John 17:20-21). God is who we are made for and our whole being yearns for connection with Him. Paul illustrates this relationship with marriage. He says, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" and, "After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church - for we are members of his body. 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church" (Ephesians 5:25; 29-32). See, God loves us so much! And it is even greater than a husband and wife relationship! Let us respond to Him with all of who we are.
It is important to note, too, that since God loved us first, worship is not earning His love! It is rather responding to Him, and His great love for us! "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10). He loves us so much! Also, the previous part is amazing too, "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him" (1 John 4:8-9). God loves us so much; He loves you so much! God loves us all the time because Jesus died for our sins! He is always there loving us, no matter what! We just run up to Him and hug Him back!
Below are some worship songs God has recently put on my heart. As you can read in the previous section, He has been telling me to love Him more with my heart, for we should love Him with all that we are, and I often forget emotions! I've found that singing to God with these songs, or songs we all know, brings me to realize how much He loves me. He is so amazing.
Whenever I feel like He is going to tell me a song, I just get my pen and write down what He is saying; they are from Him! Here are the beginnings, and I'll update with chords later as He gives them. I pray they draw us to Him, remind us to use all we are in worshiping Him (including our hearts), and show us how He loves us so very much!

Hi Jesus

Also, singing is a common form of worship, but there are many other beautiful parts to life. Like, if you are gardening, the garden for Him! You can say thanks for all the wonderful plants and foods He has given us. They are so strong and yet so delicate (Romans 8:1). Or if you are a teacher, then teach for Him! Jesus loves how children receive Him with joy and are not weighed down by the weight of the world. They just trust (Matthew 19:14; Mark10:14; Luke 1816). There is so much that God has for us! Let's worship Him! And to learn more about worship, read the posts from the new He Art cookbook below, listen to the inspired teachings at Door of Hope, and most importantly, read the Bible! By reading more verses, we can see that God alone is worthy of worship! In His goodness He doesn't need it, but it is so nice, fitting and fun to give Him thanks! He is our LORD and our friend; let's read some and thank Him! Psalm 33:1 declares, "Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him." Psalm 147:1 rejoices, "Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!"
